Leeds: Holiday Help 2025 - shop

The Royal Armouries shop offers unique gifts for the whole family and replica ranges inspired by the museum collection. As a registered charity, every purchase from our shop contributes to the work we do to preserve and display our historic collection.We have an exciting new volunteering opportunity to help keep our popular Leeds shop stocked and tidy during the busy Easter holiday period.

 

DATES: Saturday 7 April - Monday 21 April 2025

 

TRAINING: At the start of your first shift, training will provided.

SHIFT TIMES: Shift (11.30am – 2pm)

LOCATION: Royal Armouries Museum, Leeds

This challenge requires a minimum commitment of two shifts.  

 

What's involved?

Restocking, tidying and assisting visitors.  

The shop is a key stopping point, often at the end of the visit, with many visitors purchasing items as they leave. You will be asked to assist in keeping the shelves and stands stocked and tidy, returning items to the correct places and answering general visitor questions such as where are the toilets, when does the café close etc.  

Restocking

Assist in keeping the shop area stocked and tidy. The commercial team will facilitate collecting extra stock and you will help with unpacking and restocking the shelves and stands.

Assisting visitors 

Offering a warm welcome, answering general visitor questions and signposting to other areas of the Museum.

How to get involved?

Step 1) Accept the challenge. 

Step 2) For new volunteers we will contact you to arrange the date for an informal phone chat. We'll discuss your interests, expectations and your availability – at this point we will also go through the code of conduct, volunteer agreement, fire evacuation and safeguarding policies

Step 3) You will be asked to provide the details for one character reference

Step 3) Enjoy your experience and log your hours.

Step 4) Leave feedback with us so we can improve future volunteering opportunities. 

If you haven't volunteered on site with us before we will ask you to bring along some photo ID - such as a passport or driving licence - and details of an emergency contact  

Volunteers must be 18 or older for this challenge
