We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist our Development Team over the October school holidays to help us to collect donations.
As we are a free museum, donations are vital in helping us to care for the national collection of arms and armour and to keep the museum free for everyone.

Training is mandatory for all new volunteers. For existing volunteers, we can offer refresher training as part of the last hour of the training dates above.
TIMES: AM Shift (9.30am - 1pm), PM Shift (12:30- 4pm) or ALL DAY (9.30am - 4pm)
LOCATION: Royal Armouries Museum, Leeds
This challenge requires a minimum of 1 full volunteering days commitment and attendance at a training session. The full day can be split across two half days.
You must be 18 years or over to volunteer for this challenge.
What's involved?
To work alongside Museum Staff and Contractors, to assist with the museum donation ask.
Key Tasks
- Set up and put away contactless donation devices and signage at have-a-go activities.
- Help collect donations at the end of shows and have-a-go activities, some maybe outdoors.
- Make a donation ask at the visitor welcome.
- Meet and greet visitors all around the museum.
Policies and Procedure
- Comply with Safeguarding, Health & Safety, Equality and other relevant legislation.
- Work to RA organizational policies and procedures, including risk management, to protect people, the collection and the museum’s reputation.
People
- Work as directed by the Visitor Giving Co-ordinator or Duty Managers.
- Work collaboratively with other members of museum staff.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism when communicating with staff and visitors.
Personal Responsibilities
- Work as part of a team and support colleagues.
- Protect the reputation of the museum.
- Demonstrate the museum’s values.
What to bring
- We will be asking for one character reference, it cannot be a family member.
- Dress for the weather, if you are helping with an outdoor event (We recommend boots, layers, suncream, sunglasses, hats, etc).
- Lunch!

· Step 4) You'll be sent a rota each week and be contacted for any extra opportunities (If you wish)
If you haven't volunteered on site with us before we will ask you to bring along some photo ID - such as a passport - and the contact details of one reference
