We are looking for enthusiastic and friendly volunteers to join our amazing Visitor Services team.
The international blockbuster exhibition Genghis Khan: How the Mongols Changed the World will be charging into the Royal Armouries Museum until November 2026.
Discover the story of how the unstoppable force of Genghis Khan overcame exile, murder and betrayal to unite his people and rule over an empire that stretched from Europe to China.
For the first time in the UK, see over 250 rare and exciting objects from Mongolia which will tell the story of how the feared Mongol warriors of the Steppe, masters of horse and bow, forged an empire that gave us the first postal system, paper money and a policy of religious tolerance.
The exhibition, brought to the UK by the Royal Armouries, is produced by Nomad Exhibitions in association with the Nantes History Museum, in partnership with the Chinggis Khaan National Museum and the Mongolian Ministry of Culture.

As a Volunteer you will be helping with queue busting and ticket checking, assisting with family activities and undertaking valuable feedback and evaluation from our visitors as they leave. You’ll help with the smooth running of visitor flow into and out of the exhibition, offer information about the site and exhibition, along with helping visitors get the most from their visit. You may be asked to help with our new exhibition shop, keeping shelves tidy and restocking where necessary (there will be no cash handling or selling involved) and helping outside checking tickets and seating visitors for our Mongolian Horse Shows in the Tiltyard. You will also get to experience the regular volunteering points in the museum including supporting the general visitor welcome, shows and information points.
This is a brilliant opportunity for those who are interested in history, enjoy meeting and chatting with people and want to help support the Royal Armouries to share fascinating stories and objects.
