Leeds: Formal Learning school visits - Gladiators
We are looking for enthusiastic and friendly volunteers to join our amazing Formal Learning team.
This role is focused on working with school groups and supporting our Formal Learning team. You will be welcoming and escorting school groups to our incredible new exhibition, Gladiators: Heroes of the Colosseum. This is the first time this exhibition has been shown in the UK and is an immersive experience, separating fact from fiction and illustrating the fascinating world of gladiators, heroes of the ancient arenas across the Roman world.
As a Volunteer you will be helping with queue busting and ticket checking, assisting with school activities and undertaking valuable feedback from teachers as they leave. You’ll help with the smooth running of school groups into and out of the exhibition, offer information about the site and exhibition, along with helping pupils get the most from their visit.
This is a brilliant opportunity for those who are interested in history, public speaking and museum learning. Experience of working with children would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Supporting the enthusiastic welcome for school groups which aims to get pupils excited and engaged with the museum’s collection.
- Being friendly and approachable; making school groups feel welcomed and valued in the museum.
- Liaising with teachers and the formal learning team to escort school groups to and from the exhibition at the correct times.
- Queue busting and ensuring school groups enter at their allotted time slots.
